This week, we didn’t have class, but we watched a movie and read the letters of note that we picked out.
I really liked the movie. I thought the acting was great and the plot line was so captivating. You’d never know that it was based on true events. I also thought it had really deep meanings about art and your true voice. Lee was impersonating other people, but these were all her own words. She had the creativity and the wit to be just as good as these famous writers, she just needed to believe in that and apply herself.
My letter of note was from Virginia Woolf to her husband. She wrote it just before she committed suicide. It’s a very sad letter. She is thanking her husband for making her life as happy as it could be. I am interested to learn more about her mental state and what led her to suicide.
